I would like to let you all know that the last post was my last for Wearfare ever - I'm now combining Wearfare & Mostly Model into one (and possibly changing the name!), and making it about both fashion and models, and eventually start to include more personal posts, like outfits.

I will still keep Wearfare up, for people who want to look at past posts (and also because I don't want to delete over a year of blog work!)

Festival Special: Glastonbury

Yes, I know this is coming a little late, but it's never really too late for great fashion is it?

Theodora and Alexandra Richards never disappoint - the unexpected touch of the red lip pairs perfectly with the wellies!

The hat is a greatopper to this look, and adds an elegance to the otherwise simple ensemble.

I've seen this American Apparel onesie worn a thousand times (I own one myself as well!), but never quite so gracefully as this woman does.

Friends Henry Holland and Pixie Geldof share similar taste in footwear (although Pixie's are Jimmy Choo), and I'm especially loving her hat and his cut-offs! If I could get over to Glasto next year I'd totally wear Pixie's look head-to-toe.

Bringing out thshoulder pads during the summer? Gutsy, but this woman wears them well. I adore the print on her dress and the whole colour combination of the look is superb.

The silhouette of the dress is classic, but punched up with an extra-terrestrial/city lights print. I've also got my eye on those grey socks...

Model Daisy Lowe is bringing on the fringe trend full-force, with her gorgeous fringed skirt and top. She adds some more western flair with a saddle bag and slouchy boots.

Someone's looking a little Alexa Chung! Nonetheless, I'm loving the whole look, from her tough black buckle boots to her perfection of a mini dress.

So maybe she's trying a little to hard to look like Kate Moss, but Daisy Lowe can still rock PVC pants. I love that she breaks up the all-black look by incorporating different shades of the hue and contrasting matte and shine textures.

Sometimes it seems that model Lily Donaldson is perfection in human form, and her appearance at Glastonbury only solidified the theory. I can't even pin-point what I love best... the entire ensemble is fabulous, and despite the dirty wellies, Lily herself is definitely not looking like she's just tromped through miles of mud.

Back again is Pixie Geldof and Henry Holland, both wearing coordinating black leather jackets and black boots. Henry looks adorable and I'm loving Pixie's Vivienne Westwood bag!

Girl of the Month... July

By this point, surely everybody reading this has heard of Megan Fox and the Transformers franchise. Regardless of if you've actually seen the movies, you must have seen of Megan Fox. Perhaps you carelessly mistook her for Angelina Jolie (a mistake both parties would be upset about), or maybe you've been obsessing over her since the very first movie? Whatever the case, she has been inescapable for the past few months, and her on and off the red carpet style has not gone unnoticed. Here are a few of my most memorable moments:

This is my favourite formal outfit, because it accentuates without showing too much, and has the right dash of sex appeal, but also the right amount of restraint due to the dress' playful colour (reminiscent of Rihanna's lovely past Grammy dress). Also her hair and makeup isn't looking as overdone is at sometimes is, which lends to the relaxed attitude of the look.

My favourite out-and-about outfit - I LOVE THOSE LACE LEGGINGS! They're absolutely fabulous, and done in just the right way, contrasted with tough boots and a casual grey sweater. This look gets an A from me (although Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, earns a C at best)

Sexy, chic, simple, classic - a modern Audrey would be proud.

The nude pumps were a good choice, as almost any other colour would detract from the brightness of the dress. Her hair and makeup is beautiful, but I'd lose the strawberry necklace - too 4th grader.

Again, with the classic simplicity! Clearly this style works on her body, and this colour and print keep it youthful (just under Michelle Obama territory, not that her territory is a bad place to be at all).

Dressing playfully for a press conference, Megan keeps this loose-and-light shorts and blouse look age appropriate with a neutral black and white colour palette.

A golden goddess at the Golden Globes - I just wish I could erase that tattoo for a moment...

Staying away from the slutty look by keeping the palette in the neutral zone again - the grey sweater vest contrasts the black tank-top, and the white jeans are as naturally disheveled looking as regular blue denim.

I don't like the matchy-matchy shoes, but for some reason this look works for me. The bold one-shoulder is a nice change of pace from the strapless neckline, and the colour is the perfect complement to her dark hair and tanned skin.

Stylishly casual, with her signature boots, skinny jeans, and a comfortable tee, all topped off with an off-kilter fedora (truthfully, at first I mistook her for Gossip Girl's Jessica Szhor...)

For today's post, I'm tackling Oz - if Dorothy were real and alive today, what would she wear? I compiled outfits imbued with the iconic hues (emerald, yellow, red), inspired by the different significant events she goes through (a cloud-printed coat for the tornado, a Bobbi Brown brick illuminator compact for the road), and also remembered convenience, just in a more modern way (a hairbow might fly off - wear a diamond bow necklace instead; her basket-weave bag has to be big enough for Toto!)

Today's theme is EXTREME SHOES!

Perhaps some of you are reminiscing on the extremist shoes you fondly remember your favourite celebrities wearing, or even your own shoes that have garnered many a confused stare. Whatever the case, today I'm showcasing the wildest shoes I can remember from the past few years - and bringing them to you! So while the last "Celeb Stalks" were meant to inspire and give you new ideas of how to wear clothes, this one is only meant for frivolity and fun! But if you are inspired to try these styles at home, by all means, go ahead! Just don't forget to take a picture :)

How could this begin without Victoria Beckham's Antonio Berardi black patent, heel-less,

almost waist-high, heels?

Misha Barton's flair for interesting style lands her on this edition of "Celeb Stalk" twice - in this picture, for her p..er...for..at...ed shell-looking Dior heels, that might not be out of place in the next "Pirates of the Caribbean".

Beyonce really is the master of extreme shoes - these rainbow-hued, lego-inspired Balenciaga heels aren't even her craziest. She's been seen wearing everything from jewel-encrusted-back Toni Maticevski heels to 5ive-inch YSL Tribute DDoouubbllee Platform heels (on cobble-stone streets no less!)

Remember those misplaced-heel Marc Jacobs shoes? Well the fact that even good-girl Michelle Trachtenberg was seen wearing them (on more than one occasion) is a reminder that even the most absurd styles can catch on.

Kim Kardashian is clearly trying to amp-up her relatively non-existent high fashion image by wearing (frequently) these black patent Margiela cut-out heel-boots.

Prada's whimsical, faerie-inspired show a few seasons ago was all about the airy-ness of spring and it's mystical creatures. But these shoes worn by Angie Harmon are anything but dainty - who knew tulips could look so hardcore?

Madonna wearing Chanel's pistol pumps. Nuf' said.

I'm a big fan of Rihanna's extravagant style, and although they've received a lot of criticism, I especially like these crazy Balenciaga sandal-boots. They even make her relatively normal outfit seem ~dressier~ and wilder.

If you haven't seen these wild Yves Saint Laurent [cage heels] (or at least a version of them) then I'm not sure what you're doing on this site! Becki Newton's are the [cu t-ou t version], whereas Beyonce has been photographed wearing the [[completely-caged]] mini-boot version. They really are the shoe of the season.

Ashley Olsen (and her sister Mary-Kate) are no strangers to the avant-garde shoe world, but these black Azzedine Alaia gladiator sandals are fabulously extreme. It's got all the elements: c ut-o ut s, over-the-calf, patent... I can see why Ashley's a fan!

Mischa Barton was just one of the many celebrities to don these extremist Louis Vuitton tribal sandals. They've been seen on everyone from one of my favourites, Alexa Chung, to Kanye West's girlfriend Amber Rose. No pair is alike, so when you search for them, you're sure to find a plethora of celebs wearing similar, but not exactly the same, extravagant heels.

Inspired... Summer Break!

A lot of you readers who are in school, like myself, should be expecting summer break right around the corner (if you're not already on break). Almost as important as planning which days you're going to the beach, is asking yourself "what am I going to be wearing?" After all, how can you enjoy your vacation if you don't look nice?

We have your summer break inspiration right here!

Maxi dresses can often look too bohemian, but the geometric neckline and not-to-long length paired with casually swept-up hair make this Prada dress an A+ choice for summer wear.

Work attire isn't just for the office - break out that pencil skirt and black pumps to wear with your casual tee and sunglasses for a look that says "I'm financially stable, but I'm not afraid to have fun!"

Both of these outfits are gorgeous in different ways, but go nicely together as well. Both the outfits are simple in style and maintenance, but what really makes them stand out is the genius colouring.

Anja Rubik does the grunge-y model off duty look better than anyone, and her ensemble above makes for a great casually deconstructed look, and a brilliant contrast between the tattered white cut-offs and crisp blue blouse (plus the gold gladiators show off her tan)

Innerwear becomes outerwear.

Julia Frakes is very eclectic and quirky when it comes to dressing, but that may not be for everyone. Everyone can take a clue from Julia, however, when it comes to colour and pattern coordination - this outfit above is a prime example of her brilliance!

Another example of office summer dressing, all you need to embellish is a bold belt, or statement jewelry.

Enlarged floral prints are often much more modern than small liberty prints, and non-fussy gladiators pair with that style very nicely. I also love the neckline on this dress - the embellishment, the square v-neck... glorious summer wear...

Simple and lovely - a full bright skirt, flat ankle booties, and a simple white blouse just scream "Summer '09"

Sometimes all you need to look great in the summer is a bold, bright, graphic dress and a whole lot of attitude ;)

Today's theme is HIGH-WAISTS!

Yes, I know a lot of you may be cowering in fear or conjuring up images in your mind of "Mom Jeans" and F.U.P.A.'s, but that's not with this post is gonna be about! This is about finding a flattering way to wear this style through pants, skirts, and even shorts. If you know how to wear them without looking like you just gained 15 pounds in your midsection, high-waisted styles can elongate, flatter, and give you an new, interesting way to style your clothes. So hang on in there :)

The greatest high-waisted styles can be found in your favourite movies - in this case, Atonement. Keira Knightley is perfection in this high-waisted style, as it juxtaposes the thick fabric of the skirt (for built-in structure) with the soft, airy-ness of the blouse. Also notice that the two items are similar, pale colours.

Full skirts, like the bright-blue one seen above on Rachel Bilson, are the most flattering high-waisted items because they cinch in at the smallest part and then flow out at what is usually the most unflattering part, to create the illusion of a smaller size without the constriction of a fitted skirt. This is best for warm spring and summer months, cause you can just throw it on and be done with it!

Again, Keira and her high-waisted clothing. A reference to nautical wear, her navy sailor pants paired with the classic yachting striped shirt is refined and easy. Because the pants are baggy, they need to be paired with a fitted top for an appropriate contrast. For extra length, try simple black pumps in place of the black patent flats.

Kate Lanphear is an expert in tailored menswear mixed with loose women's wear. The grey blazer, besides being extraordinary on its own, is a complement to the black, thick-p/l/e/a/t/e/d, high-waisted pants and soft white t-shirt. The genius accessorizing is also worth noting.

Church-going style just got turned up a notch - Taylor Swift wore her crisp, white, collared shirt with an equally crisp, floral, p/l/e/a/t/e/d skirt. I'm not very religious myself, but if someone bribed me to go to their sunday services, this is a great way to show style without upsetting the stodgy parishioners.

New to this style? Stick with the basics - white, black, flats, t-shirt - and you'll be loving it in no time. Sometimes simple is better...

Ahhh Keira... again, you've captured the high-waisted style to a tee. Miss Knightley, the same height and body type as myself (the sometimes unfortunate long torso, shorter legs combo), creates the illusion of mile long legs with this fitted, black pencil skirt. Again, not wanting an all-over tight outfit, she pairs it with a looser top, tucked-in at the smallest part of the waist, for a completely thin, long, statuesque outfit. Hey, Sienna's not looking too bad either!

Again, Kate Lanphear knows what she's doing when she gets dressed in the morning - but makes it look effortless. The high-waisted black pants are not particularly form fitting, but more business suit-like, and contrasts perfectly with the basic grey tee and black Wayfarers. Also, note the shoes - heels will greatly assist in that elongation when you're first trying out this style, so you're not too wary of experimenting.

Lauren Santo-Domingo (right) wearing a crisp, off-white pencil skirt with a sheer top in a matching colour, draws attention to the outfit by leaving the HEAVY jewelry at home, and opting instead for a minimal beige clutch. Because the outfit in monotone, it extends the line and doesn't break up the pieces, which is often the reason for high-waisted clothes looking iLl-fittIng.

High-waisted shorts done right! Zooey Deschanel, besides being absolutely adorable, is also a style star in her own right. Denim shorts don't always look good on everyone, but they especially don't when they're yanked up to who-knows-where. Zooey keeps this look dressy but casual by wearing her not-so-incredibly-high black shorts with lengthening opaque black tights, black heels, and a lovely ruffled, cream-coloured blouse. This black and white outfit is anything but basic.

... and if this high-waisted styles are good enough for the queen of fashion, editor-in-chief of French Vogue Carine Roitfeld, than why shouldn't you try them out?

These days it can really be anything from a 65-degree windy day to a 99-degree blazing hot day - so how are we supposed to dress?!!? I've come up with a solutions through different inspirations, so you can pick and choose depending on which side of this global weather catastrophe you're experiencing today.

No matter if it's hot or cold, you always need a great pair of shoes.

Just like shoes, a smile is always in style, regardless of the weather!

For cold mornings, throw on a coat or fur - you can throw it off the second it gets hot and reveal your outfit preparedness underneath.

Is it a skirt? Is it a dress? Do you even care when it's hotter than hell outside?

You can never really go wrong with your favourite lightweight dress and comfortable flats.

Just because I'm always in need of a little inspiration (and I'm fairly sure you are too!)

Menswear done right - model Irina Lazareanu keeps a light feminine touch with a plaid blazer and slightly fitted trousers.

The bold shoulder is just the right size to be wearable, and the mix of textures breaks apart what could have been a too-stiff all-black outfit.
Hangin' loose - a delicate destruction can make an all-over smart outfit more laid back.
Tight all-over doesn't have to equal trashy. The wrapped belt is perfection, and the black patent booties pop against the other monochromatic pieces (it does help that she has an impeccable figure and face to match!)
Mixing styles doesn't always look confusing - above, the combination of cargo pants, cascading necklace, slouchy tank-top, and semi-structured bright-blue bag is easy and breezy.

Today's theme is BLAZERS!

More than a cashmere wrap or fur stole, blazers are the new night cover-up. But also unlike the wrap or fur, blazers can transition equally from late-night parties to work or even just a regular shopping day. Casual, chic, and ageless, a blazer is also a truly unisex item (meaning you can always borrow one from a brother or boyfriend). And it's not just the fashion world that's going crazy for them - celebrities have gone ga-ga for this collegiate staple as well (not meant to hint towards Lady GaGa)!

Featured on WhoWhatWearDaily. I love Gwyneth's outfit - a combination between summer-style gold gladiators and fall-style black jeans and of course, the blazer.
Kate Moss is one of my personal style icons, and she hasn't failed me yet! This blazer's satin lapels are similar to a mens-style tuxedo and is a nice contrast to the other matte black pieces. The serious all black is the perfect backdrop to showcase the playful dress from her eponymous Topshop line.
The short sleeves on Lou Doillon blazer is a nice twist on the usual long sleeves. It's

u n b u t t o n e d, but you can see that it's double-breasted, which is also another nice twist. She wears it with a simple white tank-top and unkempt hair, which immediately tones down the fanciness of the ensemble (or dresses up the casualness, whichever way you look at it)
Always on my fashion radar is Keira Knightley, who always delivers a great outfit. The colour combination is superb, and the booties add an edge to the classicality of the tucked-in white top (with a genius black ribbon tie) and navy blazer. The green 3.1 Phillip Lim skirt lends a playfulness as well.
Blazers are a must-have for any real-life Gossip Girl. This one worn by Blair (Leighton Meester) has been my favourite throughout the show. It almost makes me want a uniform, just so I can breakout this little ribbon-trimmed, crest emblazoned number!
As Rachel Bilson shows, a blazer doesn't always have to be black - sequins jazz-up the simple grey jeans and white t-shirt, and a bright-yellow oversized clutch is never a bad accessory.
There's nothing I don't LOVE about Sienna Miller's outfit. First off, the shoes. These red, studded Chloe booties are my #1 most coveted item - and I still don't have them! I'm almost seething with envy (in a good way, I'm not that crazy!) Second, the blouse. White, billowy, ethereal, and perfection when worn under... third, the cropped blazer, with another big trend this season, big shoulders a la Balmain.
You may not know who this is, but Lauren Santo-Domingo, a contributor at Vogue and low-key socialite, is always dressed to perfection. The giant lapels on this black blazer are amazing, and I love how it hits at the same point as the skirted outfit underneath.
Again, Keira Knightley knows how to wear a blazer. And again, creates a contrast between feminine and masculine, with a blue satin floral Phillip Lim dress set against a crisp navy blazer and worn-in tan leather bag.

Another blazer-maker extraordinaire is Alexander Wang, whom Emily Mortimer wears to perfection. An all-black backdrop makes the pink blazer pop, and is an interesting colour for a double-breasted blazer (which, like Lauren Santo-Domingo's outfit, falls at about the same height as her mini-dress).

With the weather warming up, we all need a little inspiration!

Probably the most perfect combination I can find. The comfort of the shirt, the volume contrast of the pants, the worn-in leather bag, the grey heels... I'm smitten with this outfit!
I like the idea of an interesting, light-weight coat as a dress. The matching tights are also an interesting combination, and gives it a colour-blocked look.
Very vintage Ralph Lauren, and also very classically comfortable. The layers are light and fit to perfection - a white shirt base and a navy cardigan (belted) with a navy blazer and patterned scarf. Crisp, easy, lovely.
I need those shoes. I really like the combination of colours, with a black and white basis and a cranberry-coloured sweater with a multi-grey scarf. It's very simple to put together, and can be dressed up or dressed down - gotta love versatility!
For those of you who aren't in the warmest climate, here's a stunner for you. This outfit is trendy and simplistic - the trendy elements being the thigh-high boots and Alexander Wang bag; the simplistic elements being the tunic tee, blazer, and super-blue jeans.

Not that she's done anything particularly spectacular in the past month, but Alexa Chung is always on my fashion radar. Effortlessly (looking at least) styled, Alexa captures the London stylist look to a tee. She is (granted, behind a few select ladies) the epitome of English-lass style, but it's so uniquely hers. I can see her outfit without noticing her face and still say "that's SO Alexa Chung!" (maybe not in exactly that manner, but you get the point). Oh, what I wouldn't give for one of her Mulberry bags and/or pair of worn-in oxford booties! Don't believe me? Even if you do, take a look :)

There's not much I love more than a model/socialite/fashion ingenue, and the latest to fit that category is Dree Hemingway. Because she is a fashion inspiration and a model, I'm splitting this up between Wearfare and Mostly Model. Literature, theatre and fashion all have a relation to one another, and Dree fits into all of them - she's the granddaughter of renowned author Ernest Hemingway, daughter or actress Mariel Hemingway (Dree herself also has had small acting parts) and is a recently signed Elite model, who with her recent It-Girl status can get into some of the biggest shows and parties in Fashion Week (looking fabulous of course) Her are some of her best fashion moments - my personal favourites are the first picture, at a party for Alexander Wang; the third picture, with the sequined mini dress (also notice the reuse of the green suede Loubs from the first picture - recession A+); and the fourth picture, captured by the Sartorialist, of Dree heading to the Calvin Klein show wearing a custom Calvin Klein suit. If I only we could all be so lucky.

1.) Guess who's back, back, back - back again, 'gain, 'gain. Some are thrilled about the return of "Slim Shady", but I'm even more excited about Zanna Robert's fashion week outfits. The skirt is divine - like no other I've seen this entire season. Notice the reuse of the bag as well (http://www.thesartorialist.com/photos/2209RlblkWeb1.jpg) Anna W. would approve.

2.) This picture you really need to click to enlarge. The pale pink fanned skirt gives a 'cutting edge' to the classicality of the fur stole and black pumps combo.

3.) Yes this photo wasn't taken at a fashion week exactly, but at a party for Alexander Wang. There were models galore, including one of my favourites, Lily Donaldson. But this is not Lily. This is Dree Hemingway, wearing a fabulous outfit.

4.) There's no easier way to dress cheery and gleeful in these very un-cheery and un-gleeful times than with a pop of citrus colour! Not only is it easier to wear than you'd think (especially in small doses - an oversized clutch, a chunky bangle, a fantastic Tom Binns necklace...) but it's delicious-looking as well.

5.) Yea, a regular pair of leather booties, grey skinny jeans, a white shirt and... what's that?!!? Voluminous fur shoulders atop a motorcycle jacket? This is truly fashion on the top, bike-chick on the bottom.

6.) Everyone has a little leather jacket, but green leather is a twist on the modern classic. The mostly-black outfit is a great backdrop to showcase the coveted green leopard scarf. For most who don't often wear green, this is a green explosion, but not a green overload that almost anyone can be inspired by.

1.) This takes the sheer silhouette to a different level! It's like a fashion optical illusion.

2.) First off, I love Zanna Roberts. A really admire her impeccable style, and this photo is no exception (she's only the left, if you're unsure). Not to say that I don't like the Phillip Lim dress on the girl on the right, but Zanna can do no wrong. I really like the combo of classic white shirt and leggings paired with leather boots and embellished cardigan.

3.) So I'm not that into the moccasin boots (too LA-scene kid) and the volume on the top is too overpowering. The reason I chose this picture? The leggings! The cutouts on the side are genius. Enviable... Rachel Bilson

These are the three reasons to be supremely jealous of Rachel Bilson:

1.) How often do you find an actress who's both well-established, talented, and completely grounded despite her celebrity? Rachel's one of those celebrities that you wouldn't accidentally bump into at a premiere afterparty, but would be most likely to grab a bite to eat with you and have a great chat about the recently debuted Derek Lam collection or her EdieRose line for DKNY Jeans (which, if you haven't checked it out already, is quite nice).

2.) Rachel doesn't just chat about fashion - she IS fashion. She may not be a well-known trendsetter like Anne Hathaway or Reese Witherspoon, but she has a devoted cult following (myself included!) and is equally as adorable. Not that envious yet? This might drive it home:

4.) Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas (a.k.a. The Jonas Brothers), in Burberry and Versace, respectively - Some say they look like twins, but at least they keep things interesting. I appreciate that each of them puts their own unique spin on things.

5.) M.I.A., in Manish Arora - Performing on her due date? Commendable, and a stellar performance to boot. This outfit? Not so much.

6.) Jennifer Hudson, in RM by Roland Mouret - Why so stiff looking Jen? I miss the Dreamgirl days with the vibrant dresses and curve-hugging silhouettes. Lovely performance though :)

7.) Paris Hilton, in Vintage Versace - After wondering aloud why Paris Hilton was at the Grammy's (surely her debut album hadn't garnered an award), I noticed that the bottom-half of her dress was mysteriously missing...

Today's theme is QUILTED BAGS!

We all know and love the classic 2.55 Chanel Purse and/or Marc Jacob's "Stam" bag, but here are a few other less popular bags that you may not have noticed, but might like just as much. These celebs have already fallen in love with theirs!

1.) Again, beginning with Keira Knightley, who wore head-to-toe Chanel, including a black Chanel purse, to the Chanel Couture show. Seen here with Karl Lagerfeld, Keira sure looks happy to be one of the designer's muses - the perks are good!

2.) Marion Cotillard, often staying off the fashion radar until awards season, looked elegantly french (as only the french can) at the Dior show in Paris. Unlike the oversized totes we're so used to seeing around L.A., the tiny black Dior purse is a nice change of pace.

3.) Accompanied by an unknown companion, Nicky Hilton dresses up her casual black, grey and white outfit with (what else?) a quilted Chanel purse.

4.) Judging by the trio of pictures, Rachel Bilson:

b.) Has used this bag at least 3 times

6.) Mischa Barton accessorized her peculiar, slightly over-styled outfit with a shining beacon of hope: a black patent-leather Lady Dior handbag.

7.) If it weren't for the bright-pink, quilted designer bag and slew of papparazzi following her journey through customs, Sienna Miller would've blended right in at the airport!

Girl of the Month... January

With the awards season in full bloom and the Academy Awards right around the corner, who else could I choose for "Girl of the Month" but the fantastic, front-running nominee, Kate Winslet? With numerous Oscar nominations behind her but with no award to claim for them, I'm hoping this year will change things for Kate (she did garner two Golden Globes!) Let's take a look at what she's served up on the red carpet... in slideshow form!

1.) 2009 Golden Globes in Narciso Rodriguez. Three words: Stunning, stunning, stunning. I don't care what the "Fashion Police" say!

2.) 2008(?) BAFTA Awards. It fits her perfectly, and would look good on a multitude of women's bodies (but looks especially good on Kate)

3.) Premiere of "The Reader". These bandage Herve Leger dresses have been seen on numerous celebrities, but few have managed to pull them off with the same elegance and classiness as Kate does. Usually they end up looking a little... skanky (for lack of a better word).

4.) 2007 Golden Globes in Azzaro by Vanessa Seward. Classic obviously works for her, with a crimson lip, simple silver jewelry (Chopard) and a well-fitted, ethereal white dress.

5.) 2007 Academy Awards in Valentino Couture. Even though seafoam green isn't a common colour on the red carpet, both Kate and Beyonce were wearing similar colours. But who won in the battle of seafoam? I think you can guess ;)

6.) A surprisingly voluminous dress for someone who regularly wears relatively form-fitting dresses. Not surprisingly, volume works on her too.

7.) Revolutionary Road Premiere. This LBD fits like a glove and has just the right amount of 'sparkle'. It doesn't hurt that Leo is right by her...

For those reasons (and because Kate is one of the greatest actresses of her generation) Kate Winslet is January's Girl of the Month! Congrats ;)

This Sonia Rykiel advertisement was one of my favourites of the season. Both Iekeliene Stange and Irina Lazareanu look stunning intertwined on a snow covered street (in a serene European location, no doubt). It's equal parts ethereal and haunting, and it conjures up images of slasher movies as well as fairytales. I love that it's provocative not in a trashy way, but in the way that it makes you think and really analyze it, and that's what a good photo should do - make you question it.

I'm still on a costume jewelry kick, so todays "Item of the Week" is spotlighting this great piece I found for a fraction of the designer jewelry cost.

This brooch has a vintage feel, and is an easy way to dress-up an outfit. It adds sparkle in a classy way to a solid-coloured evening or cocktail dress, and is much chicer than loads of necklaces or bracelets. Remember - with costume jewelry, its important that you don't overload, because even one ring or necklace makes a bold statement. Highlight whichever piece you want to shine with a simple outfit, and unfussy hairdo.

In the era of the recession, fashion has to rise up against the depressing sale racks and listless outerwear. The easiest way (for me at least) is by reviving old clothes and mixing them into my staple items in unexpected ways. Case in point, adding patterns. Colour-blocking may still be 'in', but to me, nothing screams 'what recession?' louder than a beautiful, outfit-balancing pattern (although a $4,000 Alexander McQueen gown might also do the trick - see netaporter.com, 'grecian bustier gown') I thought these would be some good inspiration photos for the upcoming month(s). Do you ever find yourself coveting the off-duty outfits of the high fashion runway models? You can easily achieve their stylishly disheveled look on a limited budget, and I have an outfit here for you that I think does just that - for under $100, of course! Enjoy :)

We gave two blazer options - the piped military blazer when you're feeling a bit more Agyness Deyn, and a more classic black blazer when you're feeling a bit more Anja Rubik.

Also, models often opt out of heavy accessorizing because it's easier to switch out of their clothes when running from show to show without having to deal with tangled necklaces. They usually will carry a simple bag or tote in a bright colour, or the season's "it" bag slung across their shoulder. Obviously for under $100, a $5,000 Valentino bag might break out budget ;)

Costume-like jewelry has taken over the fashion industry by storm. Delicate and dainty is all good and well, but bold statement jewels are where its at! Girl of the Month... November

Amidst problems with her scandalous ex and rumours aplenty, Anne Hathaway kept her composure while knocking out a few kick-ass movies (Rachel Getting Married, Bride Wars) in the meantime. Along with those movies comes wardrobes to die for, especially in our favourite Annie movie "The Devil Wears Prada". On and off the red carpet, Anne is the epitome of elegance and grace, and has a regal presence that radiates brightly but is still comforting, like an old friend. Her style is old hollywood glam and modern powerhouse, resulting in a beautiful fashion goddess every time. Truly, Anne can do no wrong. Here are some of my favourite Ms. Hathaway fashion moments:

1.) Our favourite look. I'd do a lot to get this absolutely gorgeous dress ;) Anne knows how to dress her shape, and while she wears very different clothes, the basic structure and shape of a garment stays the same, as it flatters Anne's body and personality perfectly.

2.) An otherwise dull colour palate, but the feathers at the bottom give it that extra something.

3.) One word: adorable!

4.) Yes, this was part of this months Vogue editorial, but I loved this dress so much and it suited her so well that we couldn't help but throw it into the mix.

5.) Red is Anne's go-to colour, and in this Marchesa gown, even with the matching carpet below her, she stands out amongst the crowd.

6.) The feminine, floaty dress vs. hard edged motorcycle jacket is a perfect pairing.

7.) Structured dresses can look costume-like on the wrong person (i.e. Beyonce wearing Gareth Pugh http://nymag.com/daily/fashion/2008/11/beyonce_wears_gareth_pugh.html) but Anne wears it like it should be worn, and doesn't get lost amongst the angles.

8.) Again, with the red. It's simple but everything works - the hair, the heels, the killer smile.

9.) Fashion forward, wearing Marc Jacobs, Anne accentuates her waist with an wrap belt and sky-high heels.

For those reasons (and because the Devil Wears Prada is one of my favourite movies) Anne Hathaway is November's Girl of the Month! Congrats ;)
