    Under $100

Halloween is coming up, and just like some of you I'm sure, I still haven't found a costume. Last year all I did was hand out candy! But for those of you who don't want to be stuck at home, but don't want to spend a lot of money on a costume, I've some interesting options (all under $100), courtesy of American Apparel http://store.americanapparel.net/outfit-builder.html

Here are some of my favourites:

    Laundry Basket
    What you need:
    - a basket with a hole cut in it (for you to fit in!)
    - a skin-coloured top
    - miscellaneous articles of clothing to fasten to the sides of the basket

    Grapes
    What you need:
    - matching top and bottom in either red, green, or purple
    - balloons to match your top and bottom; fastened to your clothes
    - large leaves (fake or real) to fasten to your top or even your hair

Eve from WALL-E (we have a picture of this one!)
    What you need:
    - Cotton Spandex Jersey Bandeau Pencil Dress (in White)
    - Solid Rib Turtleneck (in Black)
    - white gloves
    - two blue eyes on a black circle (made out of any material) to fasten as the face

Good luck on your costumes everyone!

    Photo of the Week

I love the mix of colours and the juxtaposing of proportions and styles (airy, feminine vs. dark, hard-edged). It's perfect for people who live in mixed-climate weather, like myself, in randomly-95-degrees-during-the-fall Los Angeles :(

    Get it now...Urban Outfitters Sale

Let me start of by apologizing for still making you guys look back and forth between the pictures, but I haven't the slightest idea how to put the words under the relevant pictures! I'm open to any help anyone can offer. Anyway, here we go.

    All available at urbanoutfitters.com.

1.) I have been lusting after these shoes for months and I'm so elated that they're on sale that I had to share it with all of you! Frye Amy Crisscross Heel (in Grey) - $100
2.) I like how they styled it with a square scarf and a low pony tail, but for fall I'd add black opaque tights (or patterned for those of you who are more daring) and pair of simple black mid-calf length boots. Ben Sherman Cardigan Dress (in Plum) - $90
3.) I think that a black fedora against lighter coloured hair can look too harsh, so for those of you with hair anywhere from dark brown to bright blonde, this is the fedora for you. Felt Short Brim Fedora (in Taupe/Chocolate) - $17
4.) For all the fans of Nylon Magazine; now you can keep it a little closer to your heart :) Nylon Mix Tape Necklace (in Silver) - $25
5.) Perfect for casual parties during the fall months. To add some colour, add an oversized purple or teal clutch pair it with matte black pumps and a silver ring to complete the overall look. Silence & Noise Printed Twist Back Dress (in Black/White Print) - $35
6.) Not your wall-flower mary-janes; these chunky-soled heels will add some attitude to a preppy look. Frye Agatha Heel (in Black) - $70

Hope you enjoy! I'm trying to fix the problem ASAP so thank you all for bearing with me! I appreciate all of you more than you know :)

    Girl of the Month... September

Wether she's the lovable workaholic Liz Lemon on 30 Rock or playing a pitch-perfect Sarah Palin on SNL, Tina Fey is everywhere these days. Her fashion sense isn't faltering too much either! She keeps up a style that is both classic and flattering, and she has become a source of inspiration for women over the age of 30. Here are some of Tina's most universally-flattering looks.

I hope that everyone knows their body shape by now and understands what clothes work and which ones don't - Tina does! There are certain looks (like the empire-waist black dress with the full skirt) that truly are flattering on pretty much every body type. If you find that simple is best for you, but you want some diversity, stick with what you know and just get them in different colours! Some people have been known to love an item of clothing so much that they really will buy it in every colour :o When trying to find that perfect dress, be open to different styles than you may normally buy. Most women will stick with what looks like the perfect LBD (Little Black Dress) just because it's plain and simple. Plain and simple does NOT work on everybody! Experiment! Just because you try it on doesn't mean you have to buy it! Find a style you love and that works with your body and you'll shop effortlessly for the rest of your life.

For those reasons (and because we just simply love her) Tina Fey is September's Girl - no Woman of the Month. Congrats! ;)

    2.) Skinny Leather Belt (in Yellow) - $20; urbanoutfitters.com
    3.) Lizard Platform (in Grey) - $29.50; store.alloy.com

    6.) Irregular Poly Bangle (in White) - $4; forever21.com
7.) Piccolo Framed Lady Bag (in Tan) - $42; urbanoutfitters.com
