    Best Beauty Buys...Chanel

Today we're going back in time to Chanel's Spring 2007 RTW show. We've always been a big fan of Chanel's runway looks, but so far, this is our all-time favourite. We love the eccentricity but still polished makeup look, and decided to give you, our readers, a chance to try it out for yourself!
To recreate this look quickly with inexpensive beauty products, use:

    All available at Sephora

Face: Sephora Brand Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 - $18, Sephora Brand Cheek Stain (in Pink) - $4

    Eyes: Smashbox 24K - $16, Sephora Brand Strass (No.02) - $10, Stila Major Lash Mascara (in Black) - $9

Eyebrows: Sephora Brand Lash & Eyebrow Mascara (in Clear) - $8

Lips: Stila Clear Color (in Pink) - $17

Nails: Sephora Brand Nail Polish (No.48) - $4

Application: Lightly apply tinted moisturizer to entire face. Lightly brush cheek stain into hollow of cheeks, especially near the ends nearest to the ears. Brush a fairly thick line of gold eye shadow along the bottom lash line, then brush an equally think line of silver eye shadow along the top lash line/lid. Brush on a single coat of mascara (don't be heavy-handed when it comes to the mascara - this look is all about the shadow). Brush on a light coat of eyebrow mascara, to set the brow. Swipe on one coat of lip color (don't be heavy-handed with this either). Lastly, paint nails with the silver nail polish, for the complete Chanel look. Hint: while this look is great for nighttime, for a day look, we suggest using just the gold eye shadow or just the silver eye shadow, and only on the lids (and for the last time, don't be heavy-handed!)

    Inspired...Liya Kebede/Vogue Magazine

The recent Vogue spread with Liya Kebede in their June 2008 issue inspired us to incorporate more ethnic prints into our wardrobe, and hopefully yours too! Here is out favourite look and what you need to make it your own. And while Liya carries a messenger-type bag, we switched it for a chic leather backpack for a more convenient style.

    2.) Featherweight Cotton V-Neck Cardigan (in Navy) - $60; jcrew.com

    High Street...Jessica Biel

Jessica Biel loves Gryson's purses and handbags - and we love 'em too! On a limited budget however, a $500 bag isn't exactly attainable, but luckily Gryson has teamed up with Target to create a line of bags that are reminiscent of Gryson's other work, but with a more budget-friendly price tag.

We found these three bags, perfect for different occasions.

    All available at target.com
1.) Gryson for Target Drawstring Tote Bag (in Blue) - $50 (for a day at the beach or an overnight)

    Runway-to-Freeway...Elie Tahari Resort

We love this chic style straight from the recent Elie Tahari Resort runway. The pencil skirt is classic and always a good options for work, while the blouse is less conventional but still suitable for the office. But this doesn't just have to be a work look -  it works just as well at luncheon or semi-formal event, which is why we love this outfit: the versatility!

1.) Pleat Neck Top (in White) - $31; asos.com (you can customize it to be more like the Elie Tahari blouse by dyeing the front with tie-dye paint)
2.) Glass-Bead and Fireball Necklace (in Deep Yellow) - $50; jcrew.com (double-up the necklace for a look more true to Elie Tahari)

    Best Beauty Buys...Donna Karan

To recreate this look quickly with inexpensive beauty products, use:

All available at Target (and in case you don't notice, we love Sonia Kashuk's new cosmetics line for Target!)

Face: Boots No7 Radiant Glow Concealer - $13, Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Powder Foundation - $11, Sonia Kashuk Beautifying Blush (in Nude 15) - $8

Eyes: Sonia Kashuk Powder Partners Eye Shadow Duo (in Leather/Lace 10) - $8

Lips: Sonia Kashuk Sheer Lip Color (in Paradise) - $12

Application: Touch up problem areas with concealer. Use powder over entire face. Dust cheekbones with blush. Lightly brush eye shadow over lids (and skip mascara! This is definitely not a heavily made-up eye, like the last weeks "Best Beauty Buys"). Dab lip colour onto the lips with your finger, concentrating most of the colour onto the center of the lips.
Hint: Be sparing with the lip colour for your day time look. For a more intense look for night, apply another layer of lip colour and a layer of mascara (we suggest Rimmel Double Play Mascara in Black/Brown - $8, also available at Target).

    Get it now...American Apparel Sale

While American Apparel always has great sale prices on their famous basics (some items are being sold for more than 50% off the regular price), you can sometimes find a special piece that can add some "flavor" to an outfit. These are the "flavor" pieces we found: the swimsuit is a nice change of pace from the usual two-pieces, but still maintains a sensuality without being overtly sexy (which is usually the case at the beach!). The v-neck shirt hints at a quince dress (minus the taffeta) in a wearable, more everyday way. It's a good way to add some of the aforementioned "flavor" to a casual weekend outfit. So we hope you enjoy our picks and happy shopping!

    All available at store.americanapparel.net
1.) Nylon Tricot Ruched Swimsuit (in Cobalt or Pewter) - $22
    2.) Sheer Jersey Ruffled V-Neck (in White) - $16

Todays outfit, inspired of course, by Bee Shaffer, is perfect for a date night or a black-tie event. Wear this outfit and feel like the Queen Bee!

    Runway-to-Freeway...The Met Gala/Coco Rocha

Our second Met Gala inspiration is Coco Rocha's ethereal, bejewled Emilio Pucci gown. Although Coco pulls off this look beautifully, we're not sure that we could wear it quite as well, so we based todays look off of Coco's more loosely than we did Anja's.
